Our Account Executives have an in-depth knowledge of the local market and competitive landscape. You'll develop strategic relationships with potential advertisers, create and propose advertising programs across all media, as well as meet your existing clients' needs. You will also assist with production planning; attend, participate in, and lead sales meetings; and act as a valued resource to your colleagues. Our team maintains an active involvement in community and business organizations, working with various key groups to promote our advertisers and products. Additional responsibilities include handling client customer service needs; and managing all financial aspects for your accounts.

This is an exciting time to be involved with our albemarle Magazine. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with businesses in Charlottesville and surrounding areas about advertising solutions and the unique and high value audience we deliver through the publication. Experience within a sales-oriented setting is critical, along with interest in all types of media products (specifically print magazines, and including new integrated solutions) and the ability to stay current with, or even ahead of, new and emerging technologies. A strong writing proficiency and ability to communicate effectively is required, and understanding a deadline driven business environment is a must. The successful candidate will also have the ability/willingness to travel locally and regionally. Lastly, a bachelor's degree and related media sales experience is preferred.

The position reports to the Publisher. $55k base salary, plus commission.
