CME BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL

Reports to VP, Medical Communications

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic relationships with potential partners, primarily pharmaceutical companies.
  • Identify, qualify and close prospects to achieve goals.
  • Prepare CME grant proposals to ensure relevance for target audiences and strategic alignment of content to the objectives of the activity.
  • Present proposals, follow-up, negotiate and close contracts.
  • Accurately forecast and report on timing of future prospects and business.
  • Have an understanding and ability to effectively work with in the CME accredited educational environments, including the expectations of funding organizations.
  • Provide insight across a broad range of disease areas as designated by growing business and as such embrace knowledge expansion into new science and disease areas.
  • Interact with production staff to facilitate production and approval process.
  • Understand deadline driven business environment.

Job Skill Set

  • Proven track record of success in selling high-quality continuing medical education programs to supporters of programs targeted to physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
  • Versed in the needs and expectations of funding organizations; the educational needs of particular physician and healthcare groups; and the learning gaps in research, diseases, and disorders.
  • Strong lead generation and prospecting skills, as well as contract negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Medical marketing and CME/ME experience.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical devices industry and insight into market positioning of new medicines.
  • Familiarity with promotional and ACCME regulations for medical education
  • Strong organization, planning, and communication skills.

PROJECT MANAGER

Reports to VP, Production

Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage and participate in layout, design, prepress, and production of guides, directories, journals, magazines, monographs, newsletters, books, brochures, promotional handouts and invitations, and collateral material.
  • Directly manage and participate in acquisition, review, and processing of editorial content for publications.
  • Manage or assist with or create/maintain schedules for production of company publications and collateral material.
  • Generate and report information to the VP of Production and others as required.
  • Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to interact with sales staff to facilitate ad creative and approval process.
  • Understanding of deadline driven business environment.

Webmaster & Technical Support Specialist

Reports to Vice President, Production

Job Description and Responsibilities

Website Support & Development

  • Be responsible for the development, implementation, management, and operation of all CJP websites. Work with the team to be sure prioritize website work and stay on task and within budgets. We run Joomla and HTML sites on Mac Xserve computers. It is necessary to have prior Joomla/Mambo experience for this job.
  • Trouble-shoot and resolve problems with the website and its associated applications.
  • Assist IT staff in updating Apache, Joomla and other website applications as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain Listserver user lists.
  • Maintain the Joomla Content Management System.
  • This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Assisting editors with website content production and promotion
    • Creating and sending out the daily newsletters
    • Updating the pages with video, photo, and textual and different types of rich media
    • Creation, update, and maintenance of various site functions
  • Work with designers, editors, other IT, and other teams to ensure site is current and optimized for use.
  • Create house ads and advertiser advertising pages when necessary.
  • Evolve e-Media strategy within small company constraints.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and external companies for all our technology related initiatives.

Technical Skills

  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc)
  • Proficient in Joomla/Mambo and HTML
  • Familiarity of Apache/PHP/MySQL as related to operation of Joomla sites
  • Familiarity with HTML templating concepts, basic PHP scripting
  • Experience handling Flash and QuickTime formats
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience; project management experience desired, but not necessary

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Previous search engine marketing, organic search engine optimization, or other Internet marketing experience is helpful, but not required
